Ohlhorst Africa Lightweight Building Solutions is proud to showcase this lightweight steel construction – a modern yet intimate chapel on the Doxa Deo Brooklyn Campus in Pretoria.
In order to achieve the demanding design detail in such a small area, Ohlhorst Africa Lightweight Building Solutions was appointed to construct and finish the Chapel using their light steel structures and cladding systems.

Last year, construction giant, Tiber Construction, joined forces with us as Tiber Ohlhorst Modular, working together on an innovative new project that redefines building practices.
On Mandela Day, The Ohlhorst Group, in partnership with Group Five and ENM Trading, had the opportunity to change many small lives at the Bophelong Rooigrond Community Crèche. A new community day care centre was built as part of this joint venture and was handed over to the community on Mandela Day the 18th of July 2018.
Ohlhorst Lightweight Building Solutions was presented the Light Steel Frame honour at the annual SAISC (South African Institute of Steel Construction) steel awards on 13 September 2017.
The award was presented for Summit Place, with special mention of being the first high-rise building in Southern Africa to receive a Light Steel Frame façade system with ETICS external cladding.
Ohlhorst recently celebrated directors Carlos Lavarinhas and Claudio Gaspari for 25 years of dedicated service at the company.
Carlos is the commercial director of Ohlhorst and Claudio heads up the Ohlhorst Marble and Granite division.
The Ohlhorst Group played an integral part in the design and development of the 131 000sqm Mall of Africa retail space. Built to be environmentally conscious, the mall houses the largest lightweight steel frame in the world, with 22 000m2 of ETICS. The exterior façade, which covers a full five kilometres in circumference, was clad with the ETICS system by Ohlhorst Lightweight Building Solutions.
Natural stone is not only durable and functional but retains value and beauty for years. Successful craftsmanship of natural stone requires an in-depth knowledge and highly specialised equipment. It is because of this that Ohlhorst Marble and Granite, a division of The Ohlhorst Africa Group, have invested greatly in their new state of the art facility in ChloorKop, Johannesburg.
Wingz of Change is an upliftment feature on community radio station, HOT91.9FM. The feature airs twice a week on Joburg’s Hottest Breakfast; award-winning morning drive show presented by Darren Scott and Jeremy Mansfield. Last year, Joburg’s Hottest Breakfast Show extended their regular upliftment feature and announced that for Mandela Day 2015, they would embark on an initiative to build a home for someone without permanent housing in 67 minutes. The show’s regular charity activation ONE Wingz of Change partnered with ER 24 on this Mandela Day House Build Project.
The Ceragran Woodstock Showroom is home to the industry’s top suppliers and acts an interactive workspace where homeowners, designers and suppliers can interplay and exchange ideas freely. “Our showrooms have been designed to be interactive, creative and explode with products and ideas. The idea is to understand and satisfy the needs of commercial project professionals, architects, designers, and home owners and make them feel at home in our showrooms.” Says Cindy Gaspari
