Ohlhorst Africa Lightweight Building Solutions is proud to showcase this lightweight steel construction – a modern yet intimate chapel on the Doxa Deo Brooklyn Campus in Pretoria.

In order to achieve the demanding design detail in such a small area, Ohlhorst Africa Lightweight Building Solutions was appointed to construct and finish the Chapel using their light steel structures and cladding systems.

The project commenced in September of 2021 and was completed a mere 5 months later in February of 2022. The walls of this beautifully designed building comprise Internal Dry Walling, Light Weight Steel with Cavity Batts, 12mm Fibre Cement Board, and Terraco cementitious render finishes. This combination achieved the required acoustic, maintenance, and thermal insulating properties a modern building should have. Doxa Deo, which has a variety of campuses and ministries in major cities, turned to NEO Architects for the design of this new chapel and olive grove garden. The goal of the project was to create a chapel that allows visitors to reflect in a space of solitude.
